York Castle Museum
Situated in York city centre, The Castle Museum is the only museum of its kind in the world and is built on the site of the old debtors prison. It houses the cell in which Dick Turpin was imprisoned prior to his execution on the Knavesmire on the 7th April 1739. Dinners are held on the cobbled Victorian and Edwardian streets, complete with period shops and vehicles. Guests may also take a tour of the museum during their drinks reception. We can cater for events from 25-80 for a seated dinner and up to 150 for a stand-up buffet/reception. Larger numbers may be catered for (400) using the Prisoners Exercise Yard in addition to Kirkgate. A marquee will be costed into any quotes.
