The O2
Events and conferencing
The O2 is the finest and most technologically advanced entertainment space the UK has ever seen. Split into 4 key areas which are all versatile within themselves, the possibilities of the type of show, presentation, conference or event that can be staged are endless.
The O2 arena
With a capacity of up to 20,000 depending upon your chosen configuration, our luxurious arena with its perfect sight-lines and stunning sound is a hugely impressive entertainment space. However, it also has the flexibility to stage smaller events and become a more intimate auditorium for as little as 2000 people by using our draping system. The venue has been fully acoustically treated from the 4 foot deep roof to the walls to the seats, which are all individually padded. Joe O'Herlihy, sound manager for U2, assessed our arena for sound quality and his recommendations were incorporated into the design.
The O2 arena is wired for high definition and has media panels which your OB vehicles can plug into so filming any event is easy and effective, and there is a media reception area (plus a host of other rooms available) for all your broadcasting needs. Backstage there also 14 spacious ensuite dressing rooms and a further 10 production offices.
Given its versatility, it is not surprising that The O2 arena has not only become the leading European destination for the world's biggest musical performers (Andrea Bocelli, Barbra Streisand, Scissor Sisters, Prince, The Rolling Stones...) but will also be hosting massive sporting events over the coming months such as Championship Boxing, Tennis, NBA Basketball and thanks to our permanent 'ice floor' - NHL Ice Hockey.
indigO2
With a capacity of 2,350, the phenomenally stylish indigO2 has been designed with an adaptable public open space at ground floor level and conference configuration amphitheatre style seating (for 725) on the first floor - with a lounge and dining area immediately adjacent. The sensational sound and lighting set-up has already attracted acts as diverse as Jools Holland, Timbaland, Joss Stone and Natalie Cole. This self-contained venue lends itself perfectly to private events; including conferences and awards ceremonies.
The O2 bubble
The cultural hub of The O2, The O2 bubble is set to become the one of the capital's most exciting exhibition centres. Set over 2 levels, it will be home to the famous Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs from November 2007 and from early 2009, The British Music Experience - with its incredible mixture of digital and static displays. This venue is a perfect feature for your delegates to enjoy after an event.
Entertainment Avenue
Occupying 60% of the entire floor space at The O2 - in a street as long and wide as New Bond Street - Entertainment Avenue is home to numerous bars, restaurants (with private hire facilities) and leisure attractions. At the mouth of Entertainment Avenue you will find Peninsula Square - a vibrant outside space covering an area as large as Leicester Square. Featuring a large digital screen for video displays and a stage for small concerts, it is also home to The Mast (our stunning 45 metre high steel sculpture) and a unique water feature that sprays mist over the Square.
The Avenue also contains:
Vue cinema at The O2
A state of the art deluxe 11 screen multiplex cinema which is also available to hire privately, subject to availability. The Premier Screen is the biggest in London - seating 756, whilst the smaller theatres seat from 140 to 298 in an amphitheatre style configuration.
The London Piazza
The London Piazza is a flexible open space located between the cinema and The O2 bubble. Available upon request, this is yet another dynamic and special location for special events offering up to 3,500m2 of uninterrupted floor space.
