The Royal Hotel
The Royal Hotel sits in the heart of the historic town of Ross-on-Wye with views over the Wye valley with easy access via the A40. The Hotel stands high above the horseshoe bend of the River Wye, commanding some of the best views of the surrounding countryside. This majestic grade II Georgian country hotel was built in 1833 on the original foundations of The Bishop's Palace, dating back to the 13th century. Ross on Wye is famous for its Market Square, farmer's market and antique shops, and is one of the most popular tourist spots in the region.
The hotel has 42 comfortable en suite bedrooms of individual character ranging from romantic feature rooms with spectacular views, to character filled single rooms in the old stable block.
With four fabulous function rooms, The Royal is the perfect setting for picture perfect weddings, family celebrations, parties, private dining, business entertaining, meetings, conferences and events. The Buckingham Suite can cater for up to 85 ceremony guests and 125 guests for an evening reception. The Coach Room can cater for up to 40 ceremony guests and 40 guests for an evening reception. The Wedding Breakfast is served in the spectacular Barrett's Restaurant which can accommodate 120 guests. The hotel also has a Wedding Licence.
