The Gate Arts Centre
The Gate is housed in a 100 year old Grade II listed building which was formerly the Plasnewydd Presbyterian Church and is located in Keppoch Street in the Roath area of Cardiff.
After four years of planning and refurbishment it is now a modern, multi-functional arts and conference centre with its architectural integrity completely preserved.
The THEATRE, formerly an upper section of the church, is now a wonderful performance space seating 250 in the original wooden pews on the raked gallery floor and seats up to 350 including the lower stage area. The architectural beauty of the original church an intimate setting for audiences.
The DANCE STUDIO downstairs still contains the intricately carved pulpit and elaborate columns, which adds character to the highly functional space.
A CAFÉ BAR has been formed in the original schoolroom, the oldest part of the building dating back to 1896. This provides a full range of high quality catering.
