Built in 1775 by Thomas Baldwin, the magnificent Guildhall is ornately furnished and fitted. The splendid Banqueting Room, approached by a grand oak staircase, is gloriously decorated with royal paintings and hung with crystal chandeliers, and makes an excellent conference dinner venue for up to 180 people.  Seated theatre style up to 360 delegates can be accommodated, and there are 3 additional breakout rooms.

The Guildhall is a great venue for conferences and meetings.Situated in the very heart of Bath and is an ideal venue for dinners, weddings, meetings and small to medium-sized conferences.

The main rooms, the Banqueting Room and adjoining Aix-en-Provence Room, are masterpieces of neo-classical decoration with sumptuous plasterwork and gilding, hung with 18th century chandeliers by William Parker and a large collection of Royal portraits from the Victoria Art Gallery.

Within the building are smaller rooms including the Brunswick, Kaposvar and Alkmaar Rooms, named after Bath’s twin towns, each with a character of its own.

The Guildhall is available for hire during the day and in the evening. Its period rooms make it a sought-after venue for filming costume drama. It is also suitable for VIP events requiring high security.

At the Guildhall you are free to choose your own caterer. We are happy to provide a list of caterers who have experience of providing quality catering in the building.
